Communication and Us

Communication plays a big role in human interaction and how they convey information from one place to another’s. Communication is defined as imparting information by speaking, writing, or through other kind of medium.

According to Cambridge Dictionary, Communication is defined as an act of communicating with people. Thus any action that similar with the purpose of communicating shall be considered as communication. After all, communicate with each other is a necessary thing for human to keep living by gaining information and blend in with the society.

Communication is not a conversation that convey message in one direction only. It is vary and can come and forward from one entity or group to another’s using mutual understanding communicate methods. Mention about the methods, there are many way of people nowadays to have communication even they are far from each other’s in the moments.

The reason why communication occurs in the first place is due to motivation in sharing the information through the formation of communication. If there is no desire for it, thus there is no need for the communication to occur in the first place. It is relatively true when human itself that starting this phenomena to occur due to their desire in sharing.

Thus, the communication way also changing as the evolution in human knowledge and intelligent occurs.  Human start to using the communication in various occasions and many ways in order to accomplish their objective. It starts to become part in human nature and daily necessary to do. After all, communication is the way to bond with people that we just meet.

With the advance of current technology, it is possible for us to have communication with others even though from another local time and location. For example, we use application like watsapp, twitter, Facebook, instagram, and so on to convey message and communicate with each other from different location.

All these application and technology there shall be no limit in human communication. Facebook, instagram, watsapp, and so on capable makes you gaining information just through reading, watching, and slide the screen without a need to move around. Moreover, currently everyone is connected with each other online making the communication phenomena evolve.

Thus it is not an excuse for current people to not communicate and have communication in their daily life. As we known, communication consists of three different parts that are related with each other’s. These parts are consisting of sender, message, and sender. Without any of it, it shall not become a proper communication that I been defined.

Communication not represent by one method only in the past. There are many method been used by our predecessor in the time where the technology still not mature yet. They sometime will use signs, symbols, semiotic and so on in their own way during conveying the message. Thus, communication have come in various shape and meaning.

For example, people in the past once use smoke as a signal or method in conveying a message that they didn’t people to easy recognize beside them. This is a unique way of communicating with people without conveying the message in the blank sight. People also use smoke during ceremony to honor a fallen family member in certain cultures.

For further understanding, communication actually comes in two forms known as verbal communication and non-verbal communication. From these two came various kind of method that human used and versatile in order to communicate and convey information according to situation and surrounding influences.

Verbal communication is the spoken or written conveyance of a message while Non-verbal communication is the processes of conveying a type of information in a form of non-linguistic. For example, haptic communication, chronemic communication, gestures, body language, facial expressions, eye contact and so on.

Verbal communication occurs in the way that we usually use in communication. We communicate through conversation and sometime writing as the medium in delivering the message. This is the most practicable method that been used by majority of humanity on this world. Not to mention that this is the most direct communication that can occur among people especially when involving a large audience in one message.

Non-verbal communication is more toward having communication using gesture or body language as the medium in conversing. This communication is also intent of a message but using sign and movement as the word of conversation. They didn’t speak or writing but more toward everything that body move shall be the message that needs to be conveyed.

Moreover, communication require people to understand the message if want to be call a proper communication. If not it shall become a miscommunication instead due to the fact that the content of delivered message is wrong and didn’t contain the similar initial information that being convey at the start of communication.

Thus, from this creating false information and causing people become confuse and some even lead to heavy consequences. Miscommunication will occur when one side delivers the message but the receiver getting receive wrong information or vice versa. It usually occur when both side failed to understanding the message properly thus causing a chain reaction.

Conclusion, communications have together with us from the dawn of humanity until now. A proper communication is a good way to understanding human from inside out. It is said that a good communication shall speak the truth of a person attitude and feelings.
